The SCAG Midwest Truck Tour is slated to be a part of the Larry Detjens Memorial Weekend at State Park Speedway in Wausau. The Trucks will run on Friday night, July 26th as part of a big weekend of racing at what was the home track of the late Larry Detjens, for whom the races are named after.

Wood Continues To Win, But Is Not Dominating As It Might Seem

Although Jerry Wood has won three of the first four Midwest Truck Tour races in 2013, his wins have not been as dominating as that stat might lead you to believe. Wood has had to race his way up through the field and that has not always been an easy task. The competition has learned from the veteran and it is starting to show on the track despite the results not quite being there yet.

“Those guys are coming on more and more every week and it’s just a matter of time before more of them are winning races,” said Wood. “All of these guys are doing a really great job and they’re listening.”

Wood Still Leads The Points, But The Battle For Second Is On

Jerry Wood has a 54 point lead over Natalie Decker for the championship. However the battle for the second spot in points is definitely heating up. John Wood is just three points behind Decker in third, while Jacob Van Wazer is just a single point behind John Wood in fourth. Joshua James is in fifth trailing John wood by another 43 points.

Last Race In A Stretch Of Three Consecutive Weeks

Despite a couple of early season rainouts, the SCAG Midwest Truck Tour is wrapping up a stretch where they will have raced in each of the last three weeks. Dating back to ARCAfest where Jacob Van Wazer picked up his first career win, and last week where Jerry Wood took the checkers again, the race at State Park Speedway will be the last before an off week for the Truckers.

Next Race On The Schedule

Once this event at SPS wraps up the Midwest Truck Tour will take a week off before gearing up to be a part of the ARCA Midwest Tour/CRA Border Wars Round 2 at the Madison International Speedway on Sunday August 11th. The truck drivers will be looking forward to racing in front of the huge crowd expected as the cars from the ARCA Midwest Tour go up against the cars from the ARCA/CRA Super Series.
